All Pro Kerosene heater coughs flames periodically?

March 16th, 2009 | Posted in heaters   Comments Off
Craig C asked:

I just bought a 100,000 BTU All Pro Kerosene heater from a garage sale for 20 bucks. It works, and still works great after i cleaned up the helocoptor seeds, and peanut shells from the inside. I also rebent the cover to prevent the fan from rubbing against the cover. The only problem is it coughs a tiny bit of flame.

MPI 441 Monitor (Kerosene) Heater Isn’t Running Correctly, Can Someone Give Me Instructions?

March 10th, 2009 | Posted in heaters   Comments Off
material_objects_ebay asked:

I ran out of K-1 last night and had 100 gallons delivered today. Now the heater isn’t running right. I’ve been on the phone off and on all day with my oil company’s service department and they have walked me thru several steps but nothing seems to work. I DO NOT have an owner’s manual for the heater. After it heats up to the set temperature it shuts itself off. It is not set on auto or economy. I have pushed and held down the red button on the side. I do not know what, if anything, needs to be done with the reset temperature guage on the side. I have turned it on and off and also unplugged it, waited, then plugged it back in. The burner does ignite as I do see it glowing when looking into the front. The valve is open inside and also outside on the tank. It makes a ticking or tapping noise when it is heating up. Please can someone help me with this, we are freezing up here in the Northeast!

returning kerosene heater?

March 1st, 2009 | Posted in heaters   Comments Off
Off da H asked:

I just bought a 10,000 btu kerosene heater. The salesman put it in my trunk for me. When I got home, I noticed the box said “reconditioned”. That was never mentioned or told to me, and it didnt’ say reconditioned on the floor model. I went ahead and put some kerosene in the tank, and let it set. Then I started looking online and I found the same heater for $109 at lowes and I paid $169 for a reconditioned one! So, I drained the kerosene out, and have set it outside to evaporate. How long will I have to wait until it’s ok to put the tank back in and return it to the store?

Need Help Filling Oil Heater With Kerosene?

February 23rd, 2009 | Posted in heaters   Comments Off
reikagoth asked:

Hello, I’ve heard from quite a few people that when you’re low on oil, you should run kerosene through your heater to clean out the heads.

I’m wondering how to actually get the kerosene into the heater, and help would be appreciated.

Cathy

Do you use unvented portable Kerosene heaters?

February 13th, 2009 | Posted in heaters   Comments Off
Guitar asked:

I have used Toyostove Kerosene heater for many years to supply extra heat in the winter. I simply wouldn’t ever want to be without it because of the wonderful heat it gives. It cuts my house heat in half each year. I was wondering how prevalent they are and how many other people use them as a means of supplementary heat, or emergency heat if the power goes out. Do you own and use one? Do you like it? does it save on your heating bills as it does on mine? Just wondering.
