Bessie Rowe asked:

Some places are often used for many purposes, and garage is one of them. Thus it becomes necessary to take adequate measures for maintaining a comfortable working environment. In cold days, a garage heater is the most useful option to provide sufficient warmth, as garages are often badly insulated.

A garage heater may be fueled through variety of ways like kerosene or petrol, each having its own efficiency and characteristics. The one which uses propane as its fuel is called a propane radiant heater, and is quite common

Propane forms one of the highly used fuels because it holds around 1000 gallons of fuel power inside it thus making it quite concentrated. Also it forms an ideal indoor fuel to be used in radiant heaters as it’s clean with no toxic or by-products released. Moreover in garage heaters the heat is released through heating elements and not through the blowing fan.

Adding to its advantages further, a propane radiant heater has a propane cylinder attached to it making it quite compact as well as provides it with a refueling capability on its exhaustion. Wheels attached to such compact heaters provide them mobility and thus easy handling. Inexpensive heating due to efficient combustion of propane gas categorizes them as an ideal garage heater.

Another aspect to be focused on is the temperature control facility of a garage heater. Since your garage may have a collection of many inflammable materials like kerosene, petrol, paint, wood, papers etc, high temperatures makes them vulnerable to ignition temperature. Also in case of a propane radiant heater, it must have a controlled flame which does not affect things placed nearby.

There are two variations in such heaters. One is a single Tag-a-long heater which uses a single propane tank for heat emission. The other one is double Tag-a-long heater which uses two propane tanks for heat emission.

Double Tag-a-long has dials to control the amount of heat to be ejected out of the heater and due to the presence of double propane tanks; it offers better heat in terms of quick and higher temperatures.

Another feature which makes radiant heater popular is their ability to heat only specific portions as compared to heating up the entire area and wasting too much of electricity and fuel due to longer hours of operation. This makes them an ideal choice for garage heater.
