I only heat one room of my house. Would it be cheaper to use a kerosene heater, Rather than the baseboard heat?
I need to heat only one room of my house during the winter. The living room has a baseboard heater that uses 2,000 Watts an hour, Which would be 2 kWh’s per hour. If I heat my house for 12 hours a day 30 days a month, It comes out to costing me around 38 bucks a month, On a 5.38 cents per kWh basis.
I am wondering if it would be cheaper for me to just heat with kerosene if anyone is savvy on heating with kerosene i would really appreciate hearing from you guys if it would cost more or less.
Thanks
50 or so of my closest relatives all heat their homes with kerosene, and have for over 20 years. Dont tell me carbon monoxide will kill you, You would have to be retarded to let that happen. Since most kerosene heaters burn very cleanly.
Sir you must be a complete idiot. At 40,000 BTU’s a 40 lb tank of propane will be used up ni about 8-12 hours. Thats 11 dollars per refill, and I said i would be heating the house 12 hours a day. Thus insuring my cost’s to be upwards of 11 dollars a day to heat.
Your an idiot.

The tank will be around 20.
For nearly month if not little longer the tank refill will be around 20.
For nearly month if not little longer the tank will last you can get them at lowes for under 200.
For under 200 and 40 pound tank refill will last you can get them at lowes for nearly month if not little longer the tank refill will be around 20.
My vote would be around 20.
