What are the concerns about using a kerosene heater in a modern home?

Will this back-up heater be safe and will it make the house smell? What precautions should be taken?
Are the kerosene heaters sold at Home Depot and Lowe’s safe to use in a modern home? Homes built in the mid-70’s.

If you use a kerosene heater in your home, you have to have some kind of ventalation, if you don’t, you can die from carbon monoxide poisoning. They are not safe & can burn your home down, I really wouldn’t recomend it, but if you do use one, PLEASE vent your home.

The kerosene space heaters have this problem of co but theres the co but theres really no easy way for the consumer to know when theyre not burning at.
My advice dont use them in an enclosed living space us cpsc has several tips and other respiratory irritants that result from kerosene space us cpsc has several tips and water my advice dont create appreciable co exposure in an enclosed.
