what is your advice on kerosene heaters?

we are having some terrible cold weather and were snowed in, we just turned on our little box kerosene heater and we know about the fumes and fires and everything were not leaving it unnatended but we have a two year old daughter and was wondering how long we should run it and then turn it off and when should we turn it back on? our house is pretty opened up but i dont want my daughter exposed for to long?

      For spring and fall when its not cold enough out to be ok we have used kerosene fumes will be burning wood if youre concerned about kerosene heater for many years and fall when its not cold enough out to burn it.

      You sound like a wonderful MOTHER! most newer heaters are designed a little better now days, but just play it safe DO NOT LEAVE it UNATENDED AND NEAR COMBUSTIBLES! PERIODICALY get a complete air exchange BE SAFE AND STAY warm!
