Please don’t burn any other fuel but kerosene in your heater. While kerosene will burn, the fumes are not explosive. Other fuels have fumes that are explosive and that can ruin your day. Unless you have a refinery, you cannot make kerosene.

Diesel is perfectly fine to use in your heater.
